The Corangamite Shire Economic Development Unit has embarked on a new project which will hopefully entice people to consider taking up the Corangamite lifestyle.
The Corangamite Shire has identified population attraction as an area of interest. The population of Corangamite is projected to grow by 713 over the next 20 years. The age of the population is an important indicator of demand for different products and services such as schools and aged care services. The Corangamite population, like most parts of Australia is ageing. The ageing trend is projected to continue as baby boomers enter old age. The number of people aged over 85 is projected to more than double from 2006 to 2026.
In addition to ensuring that population demands are met by the services, we will be also promoting the area as an attractive place for younger couples and families to consider relocating to.
